FCSA staff Gloria Laurini and Carol Hunter gear up for Clearing Day

As thousands of young people throughout Fife and beyond receive their exam results, Fife College has been busy preparing a special event to ensure that everyone is matched to a course that’s right for them, whatever their results!

Clearing 2018 will take place on Wednesday 8 August, 10am to 3pm at Fife College’s Stenton Campus in Glenrothes, St Brycedale Campus in Kirkcaldy and Halbeath Campus in Dunfermline.

The event is open to everyone, including those receiving results, who are not sure what to do next and interested in applying for a course. Staff will be available to offer advice and support as well as career advice.

Martin Kelly, Director of Student Engagement and Experience at Fife College, advises those receiving results to get in touch and gain as much advice as possible. Martin explained: “This can be a worrying time for young people and their parents or carers as they wait to receive their results to enable them to take that next step in life.

“Some may do better than expected while others may not have done as well as they had hoped and this might affect the plans they had previously made. My suggestion would be to get as much advice as possible and to consider all options and opportunities open to you.  However, you don’t need to do that on your own.

“At Fife College we have a wealth of staff ready to help and to give advice and support. Our Clearing event is perfect for those who want to speak to our staff in person and quickly secure their place at Fife College.”

Members of the Fife College Student Association (FCSA) are looking forward to offering their support to new students looking for help and advice.

Carol Hunter, FCSA President Education and Representation said:  “We hope that everyone gets the results they are hoping for to get them onto their next step; but if you don’t that’s not the end of your journey. Come along to the Clearing event at Fife College and we’ll be able to find a new path for you.”

Fife College is a vibrant, fun and creative place to study and it's not too late to apply! Places are still available for selected courses starting in August 2018 from access level courses through to degrees.

Those unable to make it to the Clearing event are being encouraged to call the dedicated Clearing helpline on 0344 248 0125 or email clearing@fife.ac.uk to discuss their options or to pop in to any of the College’s five campuses in Levenmouth, Glenrothes, Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline and Rosyth during College opening hours to find out more.
