“Before starting HND: Architectural Technology, I studied HNC: Built Environment and before that National Certificate: Built Environment.
“The reason I came to Fife College was that I have a lot of friends that studied here and their feedback was only ever positive.
“They were all progressing onto uni after their time at the College as well, which was definitely something that appealed to me.
“I’ve always been interested in architecture. It only took me so long to pursue a career in it because when I left school I wasn’t sure I had the grades for it.
“Instead, I went into employment with a bank but I really wasn’t happy in that environment, so I looked into the options available at Fife College and chose the course that was best for me.
“In the first semester of the HND course, we studied conversion and adaption. This involved looking at turning a toilet block into an art studio. It was a really interesting project!
“This semester, we’ve been doing our Graded Unit; designing a tourist information studio in Dundee. Both semesters’ projects were completely different, but both really worthwhile and interesting.
“When I’ve finished my HND, I’m planning to go on to university. I know that it’s possible to go from this HND course straight into the 3rd year of a degree but, because of the degree I want to do, Architecture rather than Architectural Technology, I’m going to be starting from 1st year.
“What I’ve enjoyed most about studying at Fife College has been being able to learn in groups – but also how approachable the staff have been throughout.
“If you ever have any problems or issues, they’re always happy to help you out.”
